Hope you are all faring ok in the Snow. I have had to take a day off work as Jim's school is closed (I only went back yesterday after 2 weeks hol for Christmas so I will be popular!). Even the main roads were completely covered - it's like a ghost town where I live in Sheffield and it's still snowing heavily. Tesco supposed to be delivering shopping at 5pm but can't see it happening.

Hi, it's snowing heavily here too!
My avatar, which is a photo of my back garden last year, is exactly how it is now! (except the sky is grey today).
Sophie, is there no-one living near you who could bring your son home? It's awful if you have to go out in the snow when you are not well.

You won't believe this though, I have just answered the door to the postman and he is wearing shorts! I didn't get chance to ask him why, he was off as soon as he'd handed over the parcel.......probably daren't stand still or his knees will freezeLOL

Hope everyone is managing to keep warm.
Doreen xx

If you have children at school - tune in to your local BBC radio station. They also post school closures on their websites. The one in Sheffield is very good but updated the website five minutes after I set off RollEyes . Not far though so no problem. It looks like even the schools in Sheff were open this morning have closed at 12.

We've got around 10 inches here and it's still coming down. Should have been in Chester today babysitting, but no chance, the roads are gridlocked for miles! I'm glad really - because the tum bug has come back with avengance - both ends this time!!!

Still snowing here too. The schools have closed early and the buses have stopped running. My mum had to go and pick Liv and her friend up from school. It's not as cold as yesterday though! I'm not venturing out anywhere as I'm still coughing and my chest feels a bit tight...getting fed up of this virus now..been like this for about 6 weeks. Luckily my mum has come to give me a hand as Ste is away at work and she has decided to stay because the roads are too bad for her to drive home.

Hope you feel better soon Jean.

We had some snow overnight, but Asda were on time with their delivery. I've cancelled most of my outings for this week. I was going to town to buy some things, but have ordered them online instead.

Keep safe, everyone.

Jean, I do hope you feel better soon!!

It is still snowing here, I have had to cancel my double gps appt for in the morning that I have waited weeks for!!!!!!!! It was to discuss my symptoms, but since I am flaring and meds upped anyway, doesn't seem to be much point dragging myself to the surgery for 8am in heavy snow!!!ThumbDown

So I shall enjoy a lie in instead, thats if school is closed!! Hers hoping!! ThumpUp

Keep warm everyone!

Hasn't reached Hertford yet- it's 9.30 pm but we're promsed a lot by tomorrow afternoon and overnight. My brother says it's about a foot deep up in Worksop. Production closed down at his factory as they couldn't get the delivery lorries out.

I have to confess I'm quite looking forward to it if I have to stay at home as I'm a big kid as far as snow's concerned. I just dread the ice and dangerous pavements.
